ABOUT ME
I am a qualified and fully accredited therapist and supervisor with 21 years experience of working in the public and private sector as a counsellor and arts therapist. My primary training had a Psychodynamic emphasis, which means I have an interest in exploring the thoughts and feelings driving our actions which are often hidden from our awareness. I have worked with a wide range of client groups and learned how important it is to be flexible and to tailor my approach to suit individual needs.
What to expect
An initial session for us to think together about what you would like from counselling. I will not judge you or tell you what you should do, but If I think that you would benefit from a different service I will say so and redirect you if I can. If we agree to continue with counselling we will decide together the number of sessions as we proceed.
My philosophy
I believe that anyone seeking counselling needs, above all, to feel heard and accepted. A large part of my job is to create the right environment for thoughtful listening to take place. Then the work of exploration, healing, and change can begin.
Whatever your reason for coming to counselling I aim to work with you towards a better understanding of what may be troubling you and, ultimately enable you to discover safe ways of easing distress.
CONTACT ME
If you have any questions about working with me or if you would like to arrange an initial session please email or call me. I will always respond within 24 hours.
